    The top grossing mobile game worldwide for June 2020 was Honor of Kings from Tencent with more than $193 million in user spending, which represented 50.4 percent growth from June 2019. Approximately 95 percent of Honor of Kings’ revenue was from China, followed by 2.1 percent from Thailand and 1.8 percent from Taiwan.     Since March, COVID-19 contact tracing apps have been installed by about 9.3 percent of residents across the world’s 13 most populous countries with government-endorsed apps, Sensor Tower Store Intelligence estimates show. Sensor Tower’s analysis focused on government-endorsed contact tracing apps in 13 countries with populations of 20 million or more: Australia, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Peru, The Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, Turkey, and Vietnam. When considering the adoption rate, Sensor Tower used current United Nations population estimates for residents of these countries aged 14 years and older. The population figures do not exclude residents who do not have access to smartphones. Out of a combined population of nearly 1.9 billion residents, we estimate that close to 173 million people from the 13 countries have downloaded a government-endorsed contact tracing app. The Australian government’s COVIDSafe saw the highest adoption rate in the group, garnering about 4.5 million unique installs…

Strict Regulations China’s mobile gaming regulations require that all titles receive a license from the country’s National Press and Publication Administration before release, confirming that the app meets the country’s strict rules on content. Despite this, many titles were previously able to release on China’s App Store without such approval. Now, however, Apple will be adhering to the nation’s regulations, and developers will have until July 31 to enter their approval number and supporting documentation to their game’s page in App Store Connect. After July 31, premium games and any title that includes in-app purchases without an ISBN will be removed from China’s App Store until a license number is provided. In…
